FBC Scholarship Fund

Richmond's First Baptist Church Scholarship Team helps our church’s members and their children fund education following high school. The team meets each spring to determine how to assist students financially with their post-high school educations. The funds come from gifts and donations to the First Baptist Church Endowment Fund Inc. designated for educational scholarships.

To be eligible, applicants must be church members (two years minimum), Watchcare associates, or active minors whose parent(s) or guardian(s) are FBC members. (The committee will review special situations.)

Students must be in their first post-high school educational experience leading to associate, bachelor or bachelor/master degrees or certificates. They must apply annually to receive funds, which are available to them for up to four years.

To encourage the consideration of ministerial vocations, the team also provides scholarships to applicants of accredited seminaries for any program of studies leading to master or doctoral degrees.

The deadline for applications is May 6, 2018.

In addition to the FBC scholarship fund, applicants may also want to consider—

The scholarship and ministerial educational fund opportunities offered through the:

The Anne B. Taliaferro Scholarship offered through The Community Foundation. This scholarship supports graduating high school seniors who are communing members of First Baptist Church. Scholarships range up to $5,000 and may be renewable. View the eligibility criteria.
