The Apostle Paul could say with all certainty
and conviction, “My God shall supply all
your need according to His riches in glory
by Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:19, NKJV).
That assurance is particularly meaningful in
our experience of revealing the Kingdom of
Heaven to Richmond, Virginia. God has
provided, and will continue to provide, all
the resources First Baptist Church needs to
accomplish His will. It is through the Ministry of Support that
we care for, preserve and use those resources.
God uses His followers as the means for fulfilling the Ministry
of Support. Those disciples who have the gifts of faith, serving,
helping, leadership, or administration are especially suited to
this area. While jobs involving numbers and computers are often
the first to come to mind, the Church also is supported by those
who cook and serve meals, who plant flowers and clean closets,
who answer the phone on Sunday mornings, who look after our
church’s facilities at Eagle Eyrie and Charlotte Acres.
The Ministry of Support is a helping and serving ministry.
As those involved in this ministry use their gifts to serve Jesus,
they help bring the Kingdom of Heaven to earth.
