2012 Church Ministry Action Plan

Someone once said a ministry action plan (budget) is the most basic theological document of the church. Not only is it a financial roadmap for our congregation, but it reflects our
values and priorities. If you want to answer the question, “How are we putting God’s love into action?”, one of the places you look is the church ministry action plan.

Our Action Plan is organized around the core ministry areas of our congregation. Those areas reflect our responses to Jesus' commands:

  • Jesus said, "Love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul and mind" (Matthew 22:37) - that's the Ministry of Christian Worship.
  • He added, "Love your neighbor as yourself" (Matthew 22:39) - that's the Ministry of Christian Compassion.
  • In His Great Commission to the church, Jesus said, "Go and make disciples..." (Matthew 28:19) - that's the Ministry of Christian Invitation.
  • The next portion of the Great Commission says, "...teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you" (Matthew 28:20) - that's the Ministry of Christian Formation.
  • Finally, Jesus told His disciples, "Love one another" (John 13:34) - that's the Ministry of Christian Community.

The Ministries of Support and Communication undergird the core ministries of the church.
