Candi Brown Minister to Children 358-5458, ext 150

Candi Brown has served as Children’s Minister since 2007.

She directs the Preschool and Children’s Ministry and provides direction for various programs such as Children’s Worship, Divorce Recovery Ministry for Children, Children’s Discipleship, Children’s Mission programs, Vacation Bible School, and other innovative children’s programs.

Candi earned both bachelor (1993) and master of social work (1996) degrees from Virginia Commonwealth University. Before joining the FBC staff, she served as a social worker for the Children’s Home Society of Virginia and Program Director for the Emergency Shelter of Richmond. She was also an active volunteer in the church’s ministries, serving as a children’s Sunday school teacher, missions leader, and Vacation Bible School leader. She has led and participated in mission trips to Slovakia, China, Costa Rica and Arkansas.

Currently, Candi is pursuing her certification in Children’s ministry to be completed in 2011.

Candi and her husband, Matthew, have three children: Madison, Adam and Jonathan.
