Something Brand-New!

Spring 2008

“Forget about what’s happened;
Don’t keep going over old history.
Be alert, be present. I’m about to do something brand-new.
It’s bursting out! Don’t you see it?”

          - God’s words to the prophet Isaiah (Isaiah 43:18-19, The Message)

Springtime is a time to think about new things. Flowers and plants emerge from the once-cold earth. Trees begin to sprout new leaves. The promise of new life is all around.

The great promise of Easter is that there is new life for us, too. Jesus, the long-awaited Messiah, died as a sacrifice for our sins. But on that first Easter morning, he was raised from death. And for those who recognize him as our Savior and follow him, there is the promise of abundant, fulfilling life!

“If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!”
          – 2nd Corinthians 5:17

God is doing something brand-new in our lives.

God is doing something brand-new in our church.
