Fund Raising For Mission Trips
Money For Your Mission Trip

Mission trips can be expensive, however, the reward you give and receive on these trips are well worth the investment. It is a great opportunity to serve God and others, as well as, receive a blessing for yourself.
The average cost for an international mission trip is around $1500.00. This price includes airfare, lodging, meals, insurance, taxes, supplies, and transportation. This amount will initially seem like a lot of money for a 10-14 day experience, however, if God has called you to go, then God will provide a way.

The following is a list of ideas that may help you as you plan.

Global Gala
The Global Gala is a silent auction held every spring to assist individuals in raising money for their mission trip. Briefly, here is how it works.
The person going on the trip gathers items to be auctioned off at the Gala. You may contact stores and ask for donations of items or gift certificates; restaurants can be asked for gift certificates; you may donate the services of yourself or friends like babysitting, yard work, etc… or you gather antiques or other valuables. Please, no yard sale type items, personal crafts, clothes, etc… This event is not a garage sale or a chance to clear your house of unwanted items. Your items are then placed in the silent auction where they are bid upon and all the proceeds for that item go into your mission account. You may not use the money for any other purpose except to fund your mission trip. Should you decide to back out of your scheduled trip, the money may remain in your account for up to one year, at which time it will go back into the general fund. Call the missions office if you have questions.

Other Solutions

  1. Apply for financial assistance through the church. Call for details.
  2. Ask friends and family to help.
  3. Sell raffle tickets. Put up a $50.00 prize and then sell tickets to your friends and co-workers for $5.00. Put the entries in a drawing and see who the lucky winner is.
  4. Sponsor a dinner where you and a friend cook and invite several friends over to eat. Charge each one to eat.
  5. Do a monthly fundraiser. One month, have a car wash, recycle cans the next, have a dinner the next, etc…
  6. Have a community yard sale. Ask friends and neighbors to give you their “yard sale” items and then sell them for your profit.
  7. Contact local service agencies and organizations regarding their policy on donations.
  8. Do a seminar or workshop on a interesting topic you are knowledgeable in and charge a fee to those who participate.
  9. Call those you know and ask for odd jobs they need to have done and accept their donations.
  10. Budget a certain amount to set aside every month for your trip.
