Shower Ministry

Hours of Operation:
Our shower ministry is open on Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon and from 5:00 –6:00 pm on Thursday evenings.

Criteria:
There is no criteria for a person wanting to take a shower other than they sign a “waiver of responsibility” form before they enter. They are encouraged, however, to limit their showers to twenty minutes in order to conserve water.

What Does A Person Get Other Than a Shower?
Upon entering to take a shower, a person receives a towel, washcloth, new underwear and socks. Other toiletries may be provided upon request. The only item they are asked to leave behind is the towel, which they place in a barrel to be washed at a later date.

Where Do the Items Needed For These Ministries Come From?
Toiletry items for the shower ministry are donated (list of needs), but for the most part, items must be purchased when the donations are exhausted. Underwear, socks, and washcloths are purchased whenever funds are available through monetary donations.

Cleaning up after showers.Volunteer Opportunities:
Volunteers are currently needed either as substitutes or attendants. This involves signing people in, giving them supplies, helping regulate their time, and being sure showers are always full when people are waiting.
