Owner’s Manual For Changing The World
Finding Time to Volunteer In Your Very Busy,
Overcrowded, Frantic, Crazy, Stressed, and Chaotic Life.

The Five E’s of Missions Volunteering.

Endorse
The first thing to decide is, “What are you passionate about”? Is it the plight of the homeless? The living conditions in Third World countries. Maybe it is world hunger , disaster relief, the AIDS epidemic, or world evangelism. Only you and God know what you get excited about when it comes to serving others. Endorse something with your passion, your sense of justice, and your commitment to Jesus Christ.

Enlist
The second step is to find the avenue by which you can act out your service passion. If you want to help the homeless, ask what opportunities exist that not only fit your passion, but your schedule, skills, and energy level. Enlist yourself to gather information about the opportunity and then seek God’s direction and will as to your response.

Engage
In step three, you move to get involved. Hopefully, you have already determined how much involvement you can manage and have made that clear to those you are serving with. If the level of your commitment needs to increase or decrease, pray about it and talk to your co-missioners but always give 100% of your commitment. Engage yourself fully in the ministry you have chosen.

Enrich
This is not so much a step in the process as it is a result of the process. By the giving of yourself for the betterment of others and the world around you, you not only enrich your own life, but you do so to those you serve as well. You enrich your attitude, your disposition, your view of the world and your love for humankind.

Enjoy
The final E is much like the previous one, a result rather than a step. When we give of ourselves to help others, we begin to discover that we are actually enjoying ourselves. No, you did not misread that statement. You really do begin to enjoy yourself as well as others. Sure, there are frustrating times as in every part of life, but there is something special added to our lives when we give a part of ourselves to others.

Be A Volunteer
A volunteer is one who freely gives his or her time and talent to a worthwhile group or cause. It is someone who believes that people can make a difference and who is willing to prove it. Without volunteers, ministry efforts suffer greatly, however, when people choose to get involved in service to others, the effects are staggering. Suddenly, the task at hand doesn’t seem so large as we draw strength from one another’s talents, abilities, and gifts. Please, make a world changing difference today… Volunteer!
