Ministry of Recreation
use recreation to complement,
support and strengthen the ministries and organizations of our church, as we seek to share Jesus Christ with others.
Reaching others for Christ by creating an environment that exists to provide quality sports, leisure activities, and other non-traditional means while emphasizing excellence, opportunities, and values.
Enlarging our ministries' territories as we meet the needs of people spiritually, socially, emotionally, and physically.
Challenging the family of FBC to grow through new experiences in fellowship and discipleship while using our time and our talent to serve others and our Lord.
The core mission of the Recreation Ministry is "To Serve and Reach Out."

The First Travelers Club
is a new opportunity
offered by the Sports/Recreation Ministry. Throughout the year there
will be opportunities to visit interesting places in central
Virginia and possibly beyond.
Future trips include: Williamsburg shopping with lunch at
Chickahominy House, Fishing Trip in the Chesapeake, James River Park
Festival, Fredericksburg Tour, National Museum
of the Marine Corp & Heritage, The Pentagon, Shirley Plantation, and
more. Be sure to watch the Recreation Ministry bulletin board and
webpage for trip announcements and details.
How does one become a member of the First Travelers Club?
Just sign up and go on one of the scheduled trips. That’s it! Enjoy
sightseeing and fellowship.
First Riders are Christians and friends of
Christians who ride motorcycles (sometimes follow in cars) in
fellowship, who revel in God’s creation and who wish to praise him
as we enjoy His gifts. We will be scheduling rides for the third
Saturday of each month through October, 2014, weather permitting.
Most rides will be in the range of 150 miles, and take up to five
hours, not including time at lunch and for breaks. Please contact
Carl Evans at 804 513-5130 if you have any questions. View
