Welcome to Microchurch

A ministry of Richmond’s First Baptist Church

Here’s all you have to do:

  1. Gather on Sunday morning at 11 and watch the broadcast from First Baptist Church on WRIC, TV8. Or you may choose another time that’s convenient for you. If you have a DVR or TiVo, you can record the program from Channel 8 on Sunday morning for later use.
  2. Invite a few friends and neighbors to join you. But just invite a few people, and really, just a few.  Jesus said “Wherever two or three are gathered in my name, there I am in the midst of them” (Mt. 18:20).
  3. You might consider gathering earlier and joining us for the WebClass Bible study, a live, interactive Bible study webcast Sunday mornings at 9:45. You may also view previous sessions.
  4. If you’re going to gather around mealtime, consider asking the other participants to bring food; that way you can share a potluck meal either before or after worship. Or maybe you’d rather just provide some light snacks and beverages. It’s your choice.
  5. After the service, take some time to share prayer concerns with one another, and then ask someone to lead in a simple prayer, offering those concerns up to God.
  6. After the prayer, take up an offering.  Pass around a bowl or a basket and ask everyone who can to put something in it.  Then talk about how this money (or your efforts) can be used to put God’s love in action.  For example:
  7. n Are any of your neighbors in need?

n Could you pick up trash in a local park?

n Is there someone who could benefit from a visit?

n Do you know a neighbor who needs to hear the Gospel?

n Is there a helping organization nearby that could use a contribution?

Congratulations!  You’ve just had a Microchurch experience!

If it’s been a good experience, we’d like to know.  Please click on the link below to let us know when and where you met and how many people attended.  If we can improve the experience for you in any way, please feel free to make suggestions.  We want your Microchurch to thrive.
