Compassion… what does that bring to mind? Inner city homeless? Starving children?
A neighbor in need? Those in need in remote lands? If you said all of these,
you’re exactly right. Compassion is taking who you are and meeting people where
they are, as they are. For Christians, it is more than just helping others;
it is helping others in the name of Jesus.
The Ministry of Compassion is…
- Seeing - You see great suffering plague the innocent through natural disasters,
famine, war, or poverty.
- Feeling - You begin to feel something—pity, sympathy, anger or helplessness.
You need to go beyond seeing, beyond just feeling, and move into…
- Acting - You know you have to act, despite all your fears and excuses. What
you need is a place to begin; resources to help you live out your faith in Christ.
The Ministry of Christian Compassion reaches out to the Richmond community and
the world through more than 25 ministries that enrich the lives of those served
and those serving.
As a Christian, you have pledged to lift up the name of Christ and proclaim
God’s love. Through the Ministry of Christian Compassion, you are given the
means to do this in every aspect of your life.
