Children's Ministry
Deuteronomy 6:4-7 instructs parents to
teach their children to love the Lord
with all one’s
heart, soul, and strength. Jesus further tells us to
love our
neighbors as ourselves.
To fully support parents and to
teach our children to
become
followers of Jesus,
First Baptist Church’s Children’s Ministry
seeks to
nurture and
guide a child’s heart, head and hands.
HEART 
being and growing in their relationship with God, others and self.
HEAD 
learning the stories of the Bible;
growing in knowledge of God as
Father, Son, and Holy Spirit as well as appropriate Bible concepts; and
developing Bible skills and the ability to apply Bible truths to real life.
HANDS 
serving others by putting God’s love into action.

11 a.m.
Extended care for infants—kindergarten
Little
Church - is an age appropriate worship time for our older
preschoolers during the
11 am TLC time. Children worship thru music,
share praises and prayer requests, hear Bible stories, and learn how to
apply simple Bible truths to their lives.

9:45-10:45 a.m.
Infants—5th Grades
We also have a class for children with special needs.

Children’s Worship 11 a.m. - noon
1st- 3rd graders
learn about and practice worship thru music, offering, lessons, reflection,
and relationships. They leave worship service during the singing of the
offertory hymn. Children’s Worship meets during the school year with breaks
during holidays, Advent and summer.

Christmas Child
During the months of October and November, we
collect items to place in shoe boxes to send to children across the world.
Food Drive
During the months of January and
February, we collect food items for those in need in our local community.
Faith Formation Milestones:
MILESTONE #1: BABY DEDICATION
Baby dedication services
are held on the 3rd Sunday of each month during both worship hours. The
service provides parents with an opportunity to dedicate and commit
themselves as Christian parents. Parents are required to attend a one hour
dedication milestone class prior to the service. Please contact Candi Brown
to schedule your dedication service and sign up for the next Dedication
Milestone Class.
MILESTONE #2: PROMOTION FROM
KINDERGARTEN TO FIRST GRADE
Each May, our kindergarten children
are “promoted” to our older elementary age division. In addition to
participating in a wider variety of children’s ministry programs, this is
also the time they join their parents in worship services. A one-hour
Promotion Milestone class is offered to assist parents during the transition
to the elementary program. In addition to program information, we will offer
resources to help parents and children meaningfully engage together in
worship. Please contact Candi Brown to register for the Promotion Milestone
Class.
MILESTONE #3: FOLLOWING JESUS IN BAPTISM
During the early elementary years, children begin to ask questions about
baptism and becoming a Christian. The Baptism Milestone class provides
information on stages of a child’s spiritual development and the key signs
indicating readiness for making this life decision. Guidelines for leading a
child to Christ and practical ways to nurture their relationship with Christ
are offered. Please contact Candi Brown to register for the next Baptism
Milestone Class.
