The Ministry of Christian Communication

|
|
Putting God's love into action.
| ▪ |
Tell your friends and neighbors about your church, what it means to you, and invite them
to join you in some church activity. |
|
| ▪ |
Use the FBC contact cards (from the kiosks) to share your contact information with someone who could use a Christian friend. Be open… the Spirit will lead you. |
|
| ▪ |
In your daily conversations, listen for people’s “spiritual temperature” and offer an encouraging word. |
|
| ▪ |
Invite someone to come with you to a Wednesday night dinner or Sunday school and worship. |
|
| ▪ |
If you know someone whose story should be told or you serve on a team whose work should be publicized, send your ideas to Susan Beach or David Powers. |

The Ministry of Communication exists to encourage and assist consistent, effective communication among the church family, and among those we serve in the Richmond area and throughout the world.
The best form of communication is personal conversation… when we are talking, listening and doing things that represent God’s love in action. We use various other channels, too: the weekly TV program at 11 a.m. Sundays on WRIC-TV8; podcasts and webcasts; the church website, www.FBCRichmond.org; frequent email updates to the church family; the distribution of CDs and DVDs; distribution of brochures and flyers; and paid advertisements, signage and banners.
We play a supporting role for every other ministry of the church: assisting with publicity and promotion; providing publishing services; and providing video, audio and lighting services.
Effective communication involves listening and understanding as well as speaking and persuading. We look for ways to encourage both ends of the conversation, in interpersonal communication and through various interactive media.
